Chairman Eugene Chien invited by The International Conference of “The Trend of Corporate Social Responsibility in the EU” to deliver a speech and share growing trend of Taiwan’s corporate sustainability performance Date:2018-04-12
 
 
Today (April 12) Chairman Eugene Chien of Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy was invited to attend The International Conference of “The Trend of Corporate Social Responsibility in the EU” held by Graduate Institute of European Studies, Tamkang University and used the topic  Taiwan’s Arising Corporate Sustainable Development to share the present status and observations of Taiwan’s corporate sustainability development. In 2017 Bloomberg ESG Disclosure Scores, Taiwan ranked No. 2 in the 24 countries around the world in the survey, surpassing Germany, the USA, Switzerland and other countries. There were even as high as 18 companies listed in the Down Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI), showing that businesses in Taiwan’s active dedication and the splendid achievement they made. Meanwhile he also mentioned that energy and climate change issues had become important variables that affected a company’s operation and that developing CSR had become an international trend as it not only could optimize its corporate image, but also could effectively enhance its market position.
