The Trade Office of Swiss Industries Taipei visited TAISE to exchange about the status of Taiwan’s sustainable development

The Director of the Trade Office of Swiss Industries, Taipei, Rolf Frie, and their Project Manager and Public Relations Director Yin-Yin Chou visited the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy on March 20, hoping to gain an appreciation of Taiwan sustainability practices and take as reference the successful examples of Taiwan’s environmental management.

Ambassador Chien introduced efforts of TAISE and the Center for Corporate Sustainability (CCS) in environmental and sustainable development education promotion, while also sharing about Taiwan successes in promoting environmental protection, such as recycling technologies. Ambassador Chien also noted that in recent years TAISE has been working assiduously with industry, government, academia, research and NGO sectors to promote sustainable development, and at the end of January 2019 signed an agreement with the National Audit Office (Taiwan ROC), further evincing TAISE close ties with public and private sector cooperation. Also, to date participation in the Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards (TCSA) have totaled 235 enterprises, representing 82% of Taiwan GDP, and evincing the rising importance Taiwan corporations are placing on sustainable development.
